Our progress in Innosuisse Core Coaching

We have been part of the Innosuisse Core Coaching programme for about a year now – a crucial step that has helped us to continue growing as a start-up and prepare ourselves optimally for our next challenges. Before that, we were already able to benefit from the Innosuisse Initial Coaching programme, which provided us with valuable foundations.

The coaching programme enables us to have regular discussions with experienced experts and coaches from various fields. This support is invaluable as it helps us to make informed decisions and clearly define our goals and strategies.

On 19. December 2024, we had our milestone meeting to review our progress. Together with our coach and an expert, we determined the way forward and our next steps. We look forward to continuing to be part of the Innosuisse Coaching Programme.

Our main goals for the coming period are clear:

  • Find an investment to secure the necessary financial resources for further development.
  • Finalise product development to make SurroundPower ready for the market.
  • Achieve certification so that our system is ready for series production.

With the support of Innosuisse coaching and our strong team, we are determined to achieve these goals and bring SurroundPower to market. 

Our journey to founding a limited liability company

In October this year, we took a significant step on our journey: we founded SurroundPower GmbH! This milestone marks the beginning of a new chapter for our start-up.

So far, we have been lucky enough to operate under the protective umbrella of OST – Ostschweizer Fachhochschule and with the generous financial support of the Gebert-Rüf Foundation. These conditions have enabled us to develop our technology, test initial prototypes and gain important partners.

Now it is time to stand on our own two feet. The founding of the GmbH was the next logical step to drive our vision forward and make SurroundPower an independent company.

Our three co-founders – Flavio, Patrick and Pitt – each have an equal share (33%) in the start-up. Together, we are bringing our commitment, expertise and passion to successfully launch SurroundPower on the market.

We look forward to travelling this path with our partners, supporters and future customers. 

Progress at SurroundPower – A Significant Step Towards the Future of Our Power Strips

Over the past few months, we have been working diligently to find the best suppliers for our patented Power Track and Housing.

After numerous discussions and intensive negotiations, we decided in September to partner with a supplier from Germany who specializes in the extrusion process. This technology is crucial to produce our three different tracks, as it allows for precise and efficient manufacturing.

Despite selecting the supplier, there were still some final contract details to be sorted out. After extensive negotiations, we were able to place our order on October 7, 2024, marking an important step in the production process.

In the coming weeks, we will finalize details regarding the materials used and the exact tolerances. This fine-tuning is essential to ensure that our Power Strip, Base Strip, and Visible Strip meet the highest quality standards. Once these details are finalized, we plan to start tool production in January.

We are proud of the progress we’ve made so far and look forward to bringing this innovative product to market soon.

SurroundPower at the Business Angels Switzerland Dinner: An Evening of Opportunities and Inspiration

On September 11, 2024, we had the great honor of presenting SurroundPower to an exclusive circle of potential investors at the Business Angels Switzerland Dinner. The event was a unique opportunity to share our vision, build valuable connections, and gain fresh inspiration for our journey as a startup.

The Program

The event featured an inspiring program: a gourmet dinner, engaging talks by experienced network members, and exciting conversations with investors who were once startup founders themselves. These encounters provided firsthand insights and inspired us for future challenges.

Our Pitch: Inspiring Feedback and Initial Commitments

All three founders of SurroundPower were present to passionately present our idea. The response to our pitch was overwhelmingly positive. Investors praised the clarity of our concept and provided valuable feedback. From these insights, new approaches emerged, helping us refine our strategy to achieve our goals. We were thrilled to secure initial commitments from investors that evening—an encouraging sign of SurroundPower’s potential.

Challenges on the Path to Closing

Despite the positive feedback and an initial investor commitment, we returned home without a finalized deal. To reach our goal, we need additional investors and, most importantly, a lead investor. Securing this deal remains a critical step on our journey.
